This breed was developed many centuries ago on the rolling Welsh hills. They are a very hardy, thrifty and versatile sheep who have been bred to adapt to all grazing and weather conditions. They have excellent mothering instincts and are able to easily raise young on hillsides. They have either a white or tan face with fleece covering the rest of their body.
The fleeces are bulky and coarse compared to lowland breeds. They can come in a multitude of colours including red, grey, black and white. At the moment we only stock white and black fleeces here. The fleeces offer a wonderful range of colour which is great for a multitude of projects!
