Unique features: The most beautiful ringlet type curls of any of the other longwool breeds. A very lustrous, soft longwool which has excellent strength too.

This was another breed that was developed to cross over hill breeds. The original tup of this breed can be traced back to 1839! He was called ‘Bluecap’ who was a large framed tup with outstanding wool. They are generally large and hardy breed with a very distinctive blue head and ears which are framed by beautiful curly locks. This is said to be the most sought after wool on the UK market.

Wensleydale is a beautiful fine, soft and long staple wool ideal for spinning or adding curls to bespoke needle felts. It really is a delicacy and oozes quality throughout the big long fleece. Wensleydale has a larger rounder curl than Blue Faced Leicester and Teeswater. Wensleydale comes in a variety of colours from black through to white.
