Carded Clun Forest (British Rarebreed)

A mixture of a few different sheep breeds historically most of which are now extinct. The name comes from a market town in Shropshire/Powys border.

The Clun Forest is renowned for being an energetic sheep with no horns but a black face which is great for identification. They also have black legs and ears. Their wool is white/cream and it covers more of their body. The fleece is beautifully soft which has a medium staple and it’s white in colour.

Whilst Clun can be used for most projects, it is on our top list for best spinning wools.
