Unique features: A multi purpose white Welsh fleece great for connecting and representing rare breeds and mid-Wales. This breed is not displayed very often and when it is sourced it is from breeders who have bred the sheep for generations. It is not on many breed databases but we know it is around and needs to be represented.
A breed native to Wales which has been bred over the years to survive the hard uplands of Mynydd Epynt. They have very strong hefting instincts and are incredibly tough.
Their wool is a great general purpose for all crafts. It’s white with a medium length staple and medium body to it. The reason for use against other general purpose wool breeds on our list is the support for Welsh heritage.
