This breed has been kept on the Romney Marsh area since the 13th Century! They are a large and hardy breed which prefers grazing the lowland areas. Due to their breeding, they are able to be tightly grazed on land and their bigger build provides them protection from harsh weather conditions. They typically don’t need additional feeding as they are built to thrive just off grass all year round.
Their fleece covers most of their body and they have a tuft of wool on their head which can fall down over their face. It is a white to cream fleece that has long locks and a lovely crimp to it. It is ideal for spinning for clothing, weaving and for felting in the rug making process.
