It finally hit the British shores in the 1970s to help improve the carcass size of the UK sheep. This is one of the most used tups amongst the UK producing a large percentage of the UK’s prime lambs. They are built with a very muscular conformity with a short neck. They only have wool covering their body and are white all over apart from their black nose.
White Texel is an excellent medium soft all purpose wool. Felting, flocking, spinning, weaving, you name it! Texel wool comes in abundance from commercial flocks and is a very popular fleece to buy suiting craftspeople of all abilities. Some of the softer texel fibres are wearable and suit knitted clothing.
